TORONTO – The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is buying Constellation Brands Canada, the producer and operator of beer, wine and spirits businesses, for $1.03 billion. The Mississauga, Ont. -based company owns three commercial wineries, five estate wineries and 163 Wine Rack retail locations throughout Ontario.
An Okanagan winery has a new owner. Laughing Stock Vineyards, located on the Naramata bench, has been bought by Arterra Wines Canada. The winery was established in 2003 by David and Cynthia Enns.
Wine Rack is owned by the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan through one of its holdings, Arterra Wines Canada.

Costco does offer higher quality products, which likely accounts for the higher prices. After all, Kirkland Signature products are of better quality than most Great Value products. But, it’s important to know that if you want lower prices, Walmart is the place to go.
