Q: Does the Original Purple Pillow need a pillowcase? A: Nope! The cover fabric is soft, stretchy, and breathable, so sleepers should feel free to enjoy this pillow with or without a pillowcase. In fact, because this pillow has an untraditional shape, folks might find that a pillowcase doesn’t fit well.
Size: The Purple® Kid Pillow is 13” x 18′ x 3.25” whereas the Purple® Pillow is 16” x 25” x 3.25”.

What sizes do the Purple Pillow come in? We currently only offer one size when it comes to our Purple® Pillow. The pillow is 24″ long, 16″ wide, and 3″ tall. The pillow weighs 10 pounds thanks to the quality material it’s made from — and trust us, it’s worth the weight.
Which side of the Purple pillow should you sleep on? The original Purple pillow is one-sided. You can tell the top from the bottom by looking at the pillow cover—the side with the zipper is the bottom. If you take the pillow cover off, the bottom side of the Purple Grid is a much darker purple color.
Loft Of The Purple Plush Pillow So the loft of the pillow is the same at 8” tall uncompressed, whether it’s zipped or unzipped. But then while it’s zipped up, the pillow has less room to flatten out (which is why it feels firmer), making it 2.5-3.5” tall while compressed.
Our legendary Purple Grid™ is one of the best materials you can find for relieving neck pain and giving you a great night’s sleep. Many sleepers also wake up with back pain, especially in the lower back.
No, the Purple Pillow is not toxic. … The Purple Pillow and mattresses have no off-gassing and the Hyper-Elastic Polymer™ used is made using food-contact grade materials.

It is also important to care for the pillows you use to ensure their longevity. Generally, you’ll be able to tell when it’s time to replace your pillows.
It took me a few weeks to get used to the Purple Pillow. I had always used a soft down pillow, so using one that weighs 10 pounds was quite a learning curve.

The Purple Grid does not off-gas, but you might notice a new product smell when you first open your mattress, pillow, or seat cushion. This is normal! … Keep in mind that for products used closer to your face, like a pillow or mattress, the smell may seem to take longer to dissipate.
While most beds at this firmness level are good for stomach sleepers, the Purple Grid can cause the hips to dip out of alignment, resulting in lower back pain for certain stomach sleepers. Similarly, the top layer isn’t thick enough for heavier folks, whose hips and shoulders may sink in too far.
Pillows that are too high can cause the head and neck to round forward adding tension to the suboccipital neck muscles. Too much tension in these muscles may result in you waking up with a headache or developing a headache in the morning once you’ve gotten out of bed.
The white-colored powder is a polyethylene-based powder that purple uses in their mattresses, pillows, and other products which feature their “Hyper Elastic Polymer.” This powder has a very specific purpose. This powder is used to keep the mattress (or pillow) from sticking to itself when compressed for shipping.
The Purple Hybrid is a medium-firm to firm mattress, falling at a 7 on the 1-10 firmness scale. The feel is one of responsive pressure relief and reliable support.
Sleep on your Purple mattress for at least 21 days. If you decide the mattress isn’t a good fit within the 100-night trial period, call a Customer Care rep at 888-848-2305. The rep will walk you through a few disposal options: Donate clean and undamaged mattresses to a local charity.
Is a Purple mattress ready to go on the first night? In short, yes. As with any mattress that has been rolled and sealed, it could take up to 2 nights for the mattress to fully “inflate,” so allow for this before making your judgments on how it feels.
Luckily, Purple mattresses are made with premium materials that are designed to last for years with no flipping necessary. Each mattress comes with a 10-year warranty backing its quality. All Purple mattresses are one-sided and should not be turned over. You can rotate them every three months or so if you like, though.
If you tend to toss and turn a lot in the night, a Queen or King sized pillow can provide the additional room you might need. … If you invest in the wrong size pillow it can actually cause a lot of pain. When you lie on a pillow that is too big, it will push your head forward.
